Welcome to MY-HACK 2026, a hackathon where high school and college students come together to build technological solutions that uplift the Muslim community. Organized by the Mafiq Foundation, this event fosters creativity, learning, and spiritual empowerment through technology.
MY-HACK is not just a tech event — it's a transformative journey for Muslim youth to create real-world solutions that address urgent social, cultural, and ethical challenges facing our communities today. Designed as a weekend-long innovation sprint, this hackathon brings together high school and college students across the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) area to harness the power of AI, data, design, and community-driven creativity.
New to hackathons? A hackathon is a short, high-energy event where teams build a working project from scratch in a set window of time — for us, that's 27 hours. No. You can contribute through design, research, business, writing, public speaking, project management, or problem-solving — teams need every kind of skill, not just engineers.
No. Suggested tracks are above, but you're also welcome to bring your own idea based on a real challenge in your community.
No. A functional prototype, mockup, or clear demonstration of the idea is acceptable.
Yes — every participant needs a parent or guardian to complete and sign our consent form before the event. Print it and bring the physical copy to check-in on July 25. See the Prep & Policies page for the form and full details.
A laptop and charger are the essentials. Also bring your phone charger, a blanket and small pillow for overnight rest, toiletries if you're staying through the night, a reusable water bottle, and any personal medication. Meals are provided, so pack light.
Staying isn't required, but it's encouraged so your team can make the most of the full event. MY-HACK runs on a "no-sleep" model — you can take short naps in separate gender halls, or go home and come back. Full overnight rules are on the Prep & Policies page.
Yes — meals and snacks are included throughout, along with scheduled prayer breaks.

Yes! Sunday's showcase and judging is a great time to bring people by — teams pitch their projects, and it's more fun with an audience. Invite whoever you'd like to come see what you built.
